Terms of Service

1. Agreement to terms

By accessing or using Kaki (“the Service”, “we”, “our”, “us”) at kakisg.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Kaki. These terms apply to all users, including activity hosts and participants.

2. What Kaki is

Kaki is an online platform that allows users in Singapore to post activities and connect with others who want to participate. We are a technology platform only - we do not organise, host, supervise, or endorse any activity listed on the platform. We are not a party to any arrangement made between a host and participants.

3. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use Kaki. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent.
  • You must have a valid Google account to sign in.
  • You must be located in or have a genuine connection to Singapore.
  • Your account must not have been previously suspended or removed by Kaki.

4. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must not share your login credentials or allow others to access your account. Notify us immediately at thesingaporekaki@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

You agree to provide accurate information in your profile. Display names that impersonate other individuals or organisations are prohibited.

5. Posting activities (hosts)

If you post an activity on Kaki, you agree that:

  • All information in your activity listing is accurate, complete, and not misleading - including the activity type, location, date, and number of spots.
  • You are solely responsible for planning, organising, and safely conducting your activity.
  • You will not charge participants any fee unless clearly disclosed upfront in the activity description.
  • You will communicate promptly with participants, especially regarding changes or cancellations.
  • You will not use Kaki to recruit for multi-level marketing, religious conversion, or any commercial solicitation not disclosed in the listing.

6. Joining activities (participants)

If you join or request to join an activity, you agree that:

  • You will attend if your request is approved, or give reasonable advance notice if you cannot.
  • You will treat the host and other participants with respect.
  • You take personal responsibility for assessing whether an activity is appropriate for your physical condition, skill level, and circumstances.
  • You will not request to join activities with no genuine intention to participate.

7. In-person meetings - important disclaimer

Kaki facilitates connections between people but does not conduct background checks on any user, does not verify the accuracy of user-supplied information beyond a Singapore phone number check, and does not supervise activities. When meeting other users in person, you do so entirely at your own risk.

We strongly encourage you to: meet in public places, inform someone you trust of your plans, and trust your instincts. If you feel unsafe, leave immediately and contact the relevant emergency services.

Kaki is not responsible for any harm, injury, loss, or damage - whether physical, emotional, financial, or otherwise - arising from activities arranged through the platform or from interactions between users on or off the platform.

8. Prohibited conduct

You must not use Kaki to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent activity listings.
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic.
  • Post content that is obscene, defamatory, or violates any Singapore law.
  • Solicit money, gifts, or personal information from other users under false pretences.
  • Use the platform for commercial advertising, spam, or unsolicited promotions.
  • Attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the platform or its infrastructure.
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent a suspension or ban.
  • Facilitate or engage in any illegal activity.

9. Ratings and reviews

After an activity, approved participants may rate each other. Ratings must reflect genuine personal experience. Ratings intended to manipulate a user's average score (including self-rating through secondary accounts or coordinated review manipulation) are prohibited and may result in account suspension.

10. User-generated content

You retain ownership of content you post (activity descriptions, messages, profile information). By posting, you grant Kaki a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, reproduce, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating the platform. We do not claim ownership of your content.

You are solely responsible for the legality and accuracy of content you submit. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms or applicable law, without notice.

11. Termination

We may suspend or permanently remove your account at our sole discretion if we believe you have violated these terms, posed a safety risk to other users, or for any other reason. You may close your account at any time by emailing thesingaporekaki@gmail.com.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

Kaki is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any content posted by users.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Singapore law, Kaki and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages - including but not limited to personal injury, loss of data, loss of revenue, or any harm arising from interactions between users - even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from or related to your use of Kaki shall not exceed SGD 100.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kaki and its operators from any claim, loss, damage, liability, or expense (including legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your violation of these terms, or your interaction with other users.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app. Continued use of Kaki after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
